In his formative years, Ahlan, known as DJ Styles, etched his name as the show DJ for Yung Joc, a prominent figure in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene. Yet, as the musical landscape shifted, Ahlan sought new horizons, including the Redbull Three Style Challenge, where he clinched the title of Semi-Champion in 2013, marking a pivotal chapter in his musical odyssey.

I had the pleasure of seeing Ahlan Wright perform in Fremont as he closed out for De La Soul, and I can confidently say he delivered one of the most electrifying sets I’ve experienced in a long time. From the moment he stepped on stage, his energy was absolutely infectious. He didn’t just play music—he commanded the crowd, lifted the vibe, and transformed the entire atmosphere.

Ahlan’s mixing skills were beyond perfect. Every transition was seamless, every beat landed exactly where it needed to, and you could tell he understands not just music, but people. Without saying a word, he knew exactly what the crowd wanted and delivered it effortlessly. The dance floor never stopped moving—not for a second.

What really impressed me was his ability to read the room with precision. He matched the crowd’s energy, elevated it, and kept everyone locked in from start to finish. That’s a rare talent, and Ahlan has it naturally.
